About Fretboard Grimoire
Accelerate your guitar fretboard mastery with scientifically-proven practice methods. Spaced repetition, interleaved exercise types, and progress tracking.
Key Features
Many Exercise Areas
- Fretboard Visualization: Exercises specifically designed for internalizing notes, intervals, triads, chord shapes, and scales.
- Technique: Exercises designed to improve your picking, legato, and more.
- Improvisation: What good is visualization and technique if you can’t apply it to making music? And what better and more enjoyable way to learn than to improvise?
Smart Practice Mode
- Spaced Repetition: When you practice an exercise, you’ll let the app know how difficult it was. The more difficult, the more often it will give you that exercise again.
- Progress Tracking: The system will remember where you are for each exercise.
- Interleaved Practice: Practice across multiple domains—a technique known to help cement your learning.
Gamification
- Levels: As you practice, you’ll gain levels.
- Acheivements: As you reach certain milestones, you’ll gain achievements
Practice Tools
- Built-In Timer: Decide how long you’d like to practice, set the timer, and practice. We’ll let you know when your session is over (but feel free to practice longer). Ensures you don’t stop early at the first distraction.
- Built-In Metronome: This has three uses: 1. It adds rhythmic practice into your routine. 2. It helps make your practice more musical. 3. You can increase the speed as you get better to push yourself into a flow state.
Current Status
