How This Came to Be
In 2022, I was asked to contribute music to the Halloween-themed music compilation Frightful Refrains.
I had a lot of pieces of music, but I struggled to make it flow. I wanted it to feel like listening to a story. So I decided to imagine I’d been hired to score a surreal horror movie, and I wrote a few scenes for the imaginary story so that I could use that as my framework.
Once my two songs were completed, I decided I had to finish writing the story. And once the story was finished, I decided I would need to finish a full score (still in the works, because I’m too easily distracted by shiny new projects).
